The Institute and Cavallo Point - The Lodge at the Golden Gate, an elegant and environmentally-sustainable upscale resort and meeting venue, work together to welcome environmentally-focused nonprofits and government groups at a discounted rate. Nestled in the heart of the Golden Gate National Parks, at the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge, The Lodge is an inspiring destination for hosting retreats, conferences, and other events.

In addition to being a member of Historic Hotels of America, Cavallo Point Lodge was named one of the "Top 10 New American Landmarks" by Travel+Leisure and has been awarded LEED Gold Certification for its environmentally-sustainable design and construction. The Lodge offers over 14,000 square feet of adaptable meeting space that can accommodate ten to 300 people, with ample rooms for breakouts, food and beverage functions, and pre-event space. The Institute package rate is approximately $422.31 per person per night and includes lodging, food and beverage package, and conference/meeting space. Additional services not included. The Cavallo sales department will confirm the final costs. How to Qualify 

Organizations/events must meet the following criteria to qualify for the discounted rate:

  • Group must be a nonprofit, government, or cross-sector institution hosting an event addressing conservation and environmental issues.
  • Event must take place between November 1 and April 30 (holiday weekends excluded). **Meeting dates are subject to Cavallo Point Lodge's availability**
  • Event must include a minimum of 10 lodging rooms per night.
  • Host a program that encourages cross-sector dialogue, problem-solving, and action in a variety of environmental areas.

 * Rate includes a 25% conference allowance fee to support the cost of providing meeting space and banquet staff service. In lieu of a standard hotel tax, a 4% fee on the lodging rate will be added to support onsite environmental programming, utilities, transportation, and administration. City, County or State transient hotel taxes are not applied to Cavallo Point room rates. For shared occupancy, an additional $50 will be added per person, per night for standard rooms with shared bed. Double bedded rooms are non-standard rooms and are quoted at a higher rate at the discretion of Cavallo Point.

 ** Rates quoted on a per person basis. Upgrades to the Institute meal package are available through Cavallo Point Lodge.
