The Institute at the Golden Gate and Cavallo Point - the Lodge at the Golden Gate, operate in a unique alliance known as the Convene program. Our partnership was formed to support high-quality programming around conservation and environmental issues, especially those resulting in specific action. Together, we support programs fostering new ideas, sharing best practices, encouraging leadership, and supporting public policy changes that will benefit people and the planet.

Cavallo Point is a beautiful, LEED-certified national park lodge that also serves the broader community. It was built with the shared vision to maintain the surrounding historic and natural features of Fort Baker while providing inspiring meeting space for the exchange of ideas and discussion of environmental issues.

Convene helps groups aligned with this goal access this amazing national park site. We offer a special discounted rate to nonprofit and government groups gathering to address environmentally-focused issues. We welcome these groups and meetings, especially those that:

  • Are action-oriented
  • Represent diverse perspectives and sectors
  • Provide for public engagement
  • Have national and international impact
  • Serve as a model for others
  • Inspire organizational and individual commitment and action
  • Result in partnerships
  • Disseminate results
  • Build youth as future leaders
  • Contribute to the Institute’s breadth and depth

To qualify for the discounted Convene rate your group must:

  • Be a nonprofit, government, or cross-sector institution.
