The Institute at the Golden Gate believes that parks and public lands can play a critical role in tackling many of society’s biggest social and environmental challenges. Working closely with partner organizations, we identify unique opportunities to bring about change locally, regionally, and nationally.
Who We Are and What We Do
A program of the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy in partnership with the National Park Service, the Institute fosters new ideas, shares best practices, encourages leadership, and supports public policy changes that will benefit people and the planet.
Current Program Areas
Our current program areas support the role of parks as a preventative Health tool, as a classroom for Climate Education, and as a key resource for building healthy and sustainable Urban centers. Our other program areas include welcoming environmentally-focused groups to Convene events at Cavallo Point – The Lodge at the Golden Gate at a special discounted rate, and offering a Fellowship for Emerging Leaders.
