Climate Education

Ranger talking to classroom.

Parks are on the frontline of climate change impact and visibility, giving them unique potential to educate visitors and encourage them to take active roles in building environmental resilience.

The Institute is working with informal educators in and outside of the Bay Area to bridge the gap between imparting knowledge and inspiring action. Using the Institute’s power to convene, we provide informal educators with access to experts and training on climate education, strengthening their capacity to teach using local resources. We are changing how parks and informal educators approach climate education, and we offer these innovative methods as models for other organizations.
