Health
Parks are valuable, low-cost resources that can counter a growing number of chronic health concerns through the physical and mental health benefits that come from time and activity outdoors.
At the Institute, we are working to promote parks as emerging resources for improving health and well-being. We pioneer systems and programming that amplify the physical and mental health benefits of being outdoors. This includes working with health practitioners to prescribe time in nature and promote innovative, health-focused park programs. Through collaborative partnerships, we are developing effective approaches to train and educate park agencies, community organizations, and providers throughout the healthcare field.
